Crispy Sweet and Sour Tofu
Savor the ideal fusion of crunchy tofu covered in a zesty sauce that combines sweetness and sourness, accompanied by the crunch of bell peppers and onions. This dish is very flavorful and easy to prepare!
Ingredients:
- 1 block tofu, pressed and cubed
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup rice vinegar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
- 1 bell pepper, diced
- 1 onion, diced
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds optional
Instructions:
Coat the cubed tofu by tossing it in cornstarch
In a skillet, heat the oil over medium-high heat
Cook the tofu in the skillet for 5 to 7 minutes on each side, or until it becomes crispy
Take out and place aside the tofu from the skillet
Add the ginger, garlic, rice vinegar, brown sugar, and soy sauce to the same skillet
Mix everything together
Add the onion and bell pepper to the skillet and cook for 3 to 4 minutes, or until softened
Put the tofu back in the skillet and mix everything until the tofu is covered in sauce
If desired, top with sesame seeds
